Great lightning storm in the Pacific Northwest night of July 30th, 2010. Lightning is rare in this part of the country, so its always fun to get a decent show once or twice a year. I was out shooting for many hours from several locations. Lots and lots of missed opportunities and a few that I actually captured. This is taken from the White Salmon bluff in WA, looking to the west. Lightning is extremely hard to predict where and when it's going to strike, so it's a game of cat and mouse for a photographer trying to get the perfect shot. I'll keep trying the rest of my life and hope to see hundreds or maybe even thousands more lightning storms. Storm chasing anyone? :)
