Went out shooting last night just after dusk to test out a new lens, and came home with some great images of the sky at night. Here is an image of the Columbia River Gorge looking West, with Venus and Jupiter showing bright among the stars. Venus is the brightest (looks almost like the moon!) and Jupiter is right below it. The streaking line is a helicopter flying through during the 30 second exposure. I have frames without the heli, but I like the action it adds to this image. I encourage you to go out and stargaze while it's clear and no moon in the sky!
