An image I made while backpacking the Timberline Trail in August of 2009. The timing is about 1 hour after sunset when there is still blue in the sky and a little bit of light glow on Mt Hood. I shot the same image 20 minutes later and everything was black. The air is so clean and crisp up there that you can not only see multitudes of stars, but the Milky Way Galaxy and even a meteorite (shooting star) line as well, mid photo above Mt peak.
