I chose this image for today because today Hood River County votes on measure 14-37, whether to vote in a new Library District by raising our taxes. After much research and thought, I'll be voting "yes" to save the library for a number of various reasons. In year 2000 when I was a senior in High School and first discovering photography, the one photography book I had wasn't nearly enough. I checked out every single photography book the library had and that still wasn't enough, so I went to The Dalles library and checked all those out. Even with the internet available to everyone these days, I think Libraries still play a crucial part in people's lives and our communities. The HR library sure did in mine and I hope my future kids have a similar experience.
